The Philadelphia Eagles tailgating experience is one of the most legendary and intense in the NFL. It’s loud, gritty, and passionate—just like the city. Here’s what to expect if you’re heading to the Linc (Lincoln Financial Field) on gameday:
1) Where It Happens
-
Tailgating lots open ~5 hours before kickoff.
-
Lot K is the most famous (and rowdiest), but Lots M, N, and F are also packed with action.
-
Right across the street is Xfinity Live!, a sports bar and entertainment complex that’s another huge pregame hub.
2) Vibe & Energy
-
Think of it as a massive block party—with 20,000+ die-hard fans repping green.
-
People bring tents, grills, flat-screen TVs, beer pong tables, kegs, and full DJ setups.
-
It’s welcoming but intense. You’ll hear booming music, see full pig roasts, and probably witness someone in an eagle costume screaming at a Giants fan.
“You can walk around solo with a 6-pack and make 10 friends in 10 minutes.”
3) Food & Drink
-
BYO or bartering is common. Bring beer, and someone will probably feed you.
-
Classic tailgate foods:
-
Cheesesteaks, hoagies, burgers, sausages
-
Chickie’s & Pete’s Crab Fries
-
Homemade “Philly-style” chili and pork sandwiches
-
-
Drinks flow freely—beer, whiskey, jello shots, and Eagles-themed cocktails like “Green Punch.”
4) Music, Games & Fun
-
Speakers and DJ booths blast everything from Meek Mill to Hall & Oates.
-
Games like:
-
Cornhole
-
Flip cup
-
Ladder toss
-
“Scream at Dallas fans” (a local tradition 😏)
-
5) Fan Traditions
-
Chants of “E-A-G-L-E-S! EAGLES!” break out constantly.
-
People wear custom gear, throwbacks, and body paint—even in freezing temps.
-
Every so often, someone will impersonate Rocky running up steps (or cars).
-
You may spot Swoop (the mascot) or local Philly celebrities tailgating with fans.
6) Real Talk: What to Know
-
Security is present, but the vibe is rowdy.
-
Don’t wear rival gear unless you can handle serious heckling (and possibly a beer shower).
-
Bathrooms are porta-potties, unless you’re near Xfinity Live! or the stadium gates.
-
Keep your group safe and smart—tailgating gets wild but is generally friendly if you’re respectful.
7) Pro Tips
-
Arrive early—at least 3–4 hours pregame to claim a good spot.
-
Bring a folding chair, cooler, and layers (it gets cold fast in late season).
-
Don’t overpack—no alcohol allowed inside the stadium once you go in.
-
Stay hydrated and pace yourself—it’s a marathon, not a sprint.
